Taylor Swift Puts Haters In Their Place With Single 'You Need To Calm Down'

Taylor Swift ain't got time for your hate in her new single.

Taylor caused mass pandemonium on Thursday (June 13) with the announcement of her seventh studio album, Lover, so much so that it pretty much was the reason Instagram legit BROKE — the power of Taylor Swift everyone!

With the album announcement came even more gifts from the 29-year-old — is it Swiftmas already?! She shared her second single, "You Need to Calm Down" at midnight Friday (June 14) and IT IS INCREDIBLE!

In the new track, Taylor is calling out all the haters, bullies, and trolls in the world with lyrics like: Say it in the street/That's a knock out/but you say it in a Tweet/That's a cop out. Also in the song, Taylor doesn't forget to stand up for her fellow women in the industry and calls out anyone who tries to pit her against her peers.

She also gives a HUGE shoutout to the LGBTQA+ community with the lyrics: Why are you mad?/When you could be GLAAD — aka the LGBTQA+ organization that advances diversity. She also slays all homophobes with the I C O N I C lyrics: Sunshine on the street at the parade/But you would rather be in the dark ages/Making that sign/Must've taken all night.../Cause shade never made anybody less gay. Yep, Taylor Swift said LGBTQA+ Rights this Pride month y'all!

Ever the one for Easter eggs, Taylor hid the new single's name in plain sight in the music video for "ME!" when she and Panic! At The Disco's Brendon Urie are fighting in French during the opening scene. But let's make one thing crystal clear: I AM NOT CALM after hearing this song!

If you're in desperate need for more, have no fear! Taylor will officially release the "You Need to Calm Down" music video on Monday (June 17) live on Good Morning America and you definitely won't wanna miss it!

Lover is available for pre-order now and is set to be released on August 23rd.
