Target Offers Extra Pay To Hourly Employees Who Get COVID-19 Vaccine!

Many companies have announced they will start offering extra pay to employees who get the COVID-19 vaccine, well Target is joining that growing list of companies. Target announced that it will offer hourly employees up to four hours of pay when they get the two shots. The retail company will also cover the cost of a Lyft ride, up to $15 each way, to the vaccination appointment. Target is working on ways to get CVS and other providers to give doses to workers at CVS pharmacies inside of its stores or at Target’s distribution centers. Target currently has more than 350,000 part-time and full-time workers across the country who will be eligible. A company spokesperson said Target will not require employees to get the vaccine. Target’s chief human resources officer, Melissa Kremer, said in a blog post,

“As more vaccines become available, especially for frontline and essential workers, we’ll help our team members across the country get the information and access they need."
