The 'Snow Moon' Will Appear This Week!

This month has definitely been snow especially in Texas so it's only appropriate that this month's full moon is called the Snow Moon. It's called the snow moon because February is typically a snowy month, but it has only seen to be true recently. The Snow Moon will occur Friday Night (2/26) through Saturday morning. It will reach peak illumination at 3:17 a.m. EST. The moon will rise around sunset and reach the highest point in the sky around midnight and set around dawn. Next month, the Worm Moon will emerge on March 28th and its name for the emergence of earthworms in thawing soil. The Worm Moon will be the first of spring.
