Nedra Talley, Last Surviving Ronettes Member, Dead At 80

The last surviving member of iconic 1960s girl group The Ronettes, Nedra Talley, has died.

Talley, 80, died at her home on Sunday (April 26), per her daughter, Nedra K. Ross, in a Facebook post. No cause of death was given.

"This morning our mother Nedra Talley Ross went home to be with the Lord," the post shared. "She was safe in her own bed at home with her family close, knowing she was loved."

The official Instagram of the band also confirmed the news of the musician's passing.

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Nedra Talley Ross' passing," the post captioned alongside a photo of Ross. "She was a light to those who knew and loved her. As a founding member of The Ronettes, Nedra's voice, style and spirit helped define a sound that would change music. Her contribution to the group's story and their defining influence will live forever. Rest peacefully dear Nedra. Thanks for the magic."

The Ronettes consisted of lead singer Ronnie Spector and her older sister Estelle Bennett, along with their cousin, Talley. Formed in 1959, the group would go on to achieve nine Billboard Hot 100 songs, including their biggest hit, "Be My Baby." Bennett died in 2009 of colon cancer at age 67, while Spector died in 2022 of cancer at age 78.
