Presque Isle's Not the Landfill...

I love running at Presque Isle with our dog, but it just drives me nuts that people leave their trash laying around. I've found everything from cigarette butts to beer cans, fast food wrappers, and even large tires that my sons and I fished out of the lagoons. Some people travel to Erie from hours away just to enjoy a day a place that that we're lucky enough to have in our backyard. A few years ago I met a guy that lived in Erie for 20 years and had never gone out to the park which blew my mind.

Presque Isle is a beautiful place any time of the year, it's not just a summer hot spot. In the fall the leaves are beautiful. In the winter mother nature treats us to some incredible ice formations and a chance to walk on the frozen bay. If you've never caught a sunrise or sunset out at the park it's absolutely breath taking and a great destresser.

I can't always pick up trash while running with my dog, though I've done it. It amazes me that people can go somewhere so beautiful and then leave their garbage for somebody else to pick up. As a general rule if you brought it with you then it should go home with you or in the garbage can.
