Yesterday a 20-some year-old guy told me to “be careful out there” and keep an eye out for people who pull out in front of you when you’re on a motorcycle. His wisdom came from the time it happened to him and he skidded “170 feet” before he hit the car. That statement told me a lot, but I thanked him anyway and added that if I had received that unsolicited advice 47 years ago when I first started riding, I might still be alive today. Not everyone belongs on a bike but at least he had the be careful part right.
