It takes one to know one.

There were people up there as the storm moved in and I thought, “Idiots.” Then I flashed back to the time my buddy, Doug and I were standing at the top of a metal fire tower on a hill outside Corning, N.Y., watching lightning strikes in the distance and making scientific observations like, “Oh wow, man.” It’s funny how the possibility of imminent death can occur to two idiots at the exact same time. I think we hold the record for running down steep metal stairs without touching the railings.
